some problems out here. the weather not helping our commute for those along marc brunswick line. we are told you can anticipate at least an hour delay on marc brunswick trains. metro will honor your tickets. out here on the roads behind me, this is 395 at duke street. for the most part, just anticipating some precipitation here. we've had two separate accidents before and after quantico so already delays are forming at 610 head north up towards dumfries. this is northbound i-95 here in wood brim. this is that delay in the main line that i just mentioned headed out of woodbridge. brings, ramps and overpasses, that is what we're concerned with. i got a number of tweets coming in talking about how the ramp to and from the beltway are still slippery. i saw a number of truck on my drive in this morning on stand- by to help give you some traction. if you get behind a play train or salt truck rain, allow them to do their job. it will give you some traction. looking through the rain, this is like a nice little icicle here, southbound 270, lanes are open but the pace is slow moving from fred

and their daughters. good morning, happy new year. i'm marc halperin, we have a lot to get to including a controversial decision by house leaders to not take a vote on hurricane sandy relief. some members of congress on both sides of the aisle are speaking out. first the big story on capitol hill and for the country this morning, a bill to avert the fiscal cliff awaits president obama's john hancock. around 11:00 p.m. eastern last night, the republican-led house gave final approval to a deal that will raise taxes on the wealthiest americans, and postponing the automatic spending cuts for two months. the package, which would be signed by the president as early as today preserves the bush era tax cuts for individuals who earn less than $400,000 a year and households earning less than $450,000. it extends unemployment benefits for a year and does not do a bunch of other stuff. it passed by a comfortable margin but only because a majority of yes votes came from democrats. 172 democrats voted in favor. 16 opposed. 151 republicans voted against the bill. only 85 voted in favor. in recent year
